Real Madrid vs. Mallorca – prediction, team news, tips

La Liga title-favourites Real Madrid and star striker Karim Benzema are in red hot form heading into this game against Mallorca.

Real Madrid look to continue their unbeaten home record in the league against relegation-threatened Mallorca.

Real Madrid head into their meeting with Mallorca knowing that three points will be enough to retain their spot at the top of the La Liga standings.

Mallorca make the trip to the Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium having dropped into the relegation zone, courtesy of just one point being recorded since the resumption.

During the enforced three-month break, Zinedine Zidane would have been frustrated that his side had suffered defeats in two of their most recent three outings in La Liga.

They have won all three of their matches since the restart against Eibar, Valencia and Real Sociedad, with their latest victory putting them top of the standings, ahead of Barcelona as a result of their superior head-to-head record.

Home performances have been key to Real Madrid’s success this season – they are unbeaten in their 15 home league matches, winning 11 and drawing four.

Mallorca have drawn blanks in three of those matches against high flying Getafe, Barcelona and Villarreal outfits and they may not find a way through another sturdy rearguard, enhancing appeal about a Real Madrid win to nil match prediction.

Reason for Real Madrid vs Mallorca predictions:

  • Real Madrid have won four of their last five league assignments.
  • Mallorca have failed to score in eight of their 14 away matches in La Liga this term.
  • Both teams have scored in only six of Mallorca’s 14 away games.

The two sides have met each other in league fixtures 57 times, and Real Madrid have emerged victorious on 36 occasions. Mallorca won 10 games, while 11 ended as a draw.

While Zidane is likely to make changes to his starting lineup, that should not hinder their chances in this contest. It would take nothing less than a miracle for Mallorca to record a win against the in-form Real Madrid team and we think it will be another easy win for the home side.

Real Madrid 2-0 @ 13/2
