Tough fight. Joshua is the reigning unified heavyweight champion, but he’s facing a man who is a fellow Olympic gold medallist, is unbeaten, and was the undisputed cruiserweight champion of the world.
Joshua has one of the biggest punches in the heavyweight division, and Usyk has never faced anybody with the kind of power that Joshua possesses. On the other hand, if there’s anybody in the heavyweight division who might be a more talented pure boxer than Anthony Joshua, it’s probably Usyk. Joshua will need to be more ready than ever since he puts his world heavyweight titles on the line
Technically, Usyk is brilliant and has a lot of experience. Even though Anthony is very big, we’re used to fighting big guys. He will start fast, and he has to fight more intelligently to win. That means that Usyk needs to avoid Joshua’s long reach and land punches on the inside. Usyk could be Joshua’s toughest test to date.
Joshua holds a record of 24 wins and one defeat in his eight-year professional career to date while Usyk has 18 wins and no defeats to his name.
Anthony must be the favorite for the fight. He’s the bigger guy and he’s a bigger puncher. He proved it at cruiserweight. He was fantastic, and he’s made his mark in that weight division. Joshua’s speed, power and perseverance will be what catches up with Oleksandr Usyk.
