Sevilla vs. Inter Milan – prediction, team news and odds

Inter Milan will be looking to win their first piece of European silverware for 10 years when they take on Spanish giants Sevilla in the Europa League final on Friday night at the RheinEnergieStadion in Cologne.

Inter Milan cruised into the Europa League final on Monday night but won’t have it so easy when they face five-time champions Sevilla.

Antonio Conte’s side breezed past Shakhtar Donetsk in the semi-finals to advance, while Sevilla recorded a 2-1 win over Manchester United to book their position in the final once again.

The most successful side in the history of this competition, Sevilla have won the UEFA Cup/Europa League on five occasions, most recently lifting the European trophy in 2016, which proved to be their third in succession.

Reason for Sevilla vs. Inter Milan predictions:

  • Inter scored two or more goals in 14 of their last 16 games.
  • Sevilla conceded 20 shots in their semi-final win against Man Utd.
  • Inter won eight of their last ten games in all competitions.
  • Inter scored exactly two goals in four of their last five matches.
  • Sevilla have scored 20 goals in 11 matches in the Europa League.

Inter have won their last six matches in all competitions, and they have won all five of their Europa League matches this season since entering the tournament in the knockout stages.

Inter have scored 13 in five Europa League matches, including five in the semi-final against Shakhtar.

While several of Sevilla’s games have ended with 1-0 or 2-0 scorelines, five of Inter’s last nine games have produced over 2.5 goals.

Sevilla have a great pedigree in this tournament, lifting the trophy five times, and are clearly fired up to further enhance that proud record.

Friday’s clash will be the first ever meeting between the two sides in European competition, but Sevilla have been victorious in their last three games against Italian opposition, beating Roma and Lazio twice in the last-32 stage of the 2018-19 Europa League.

Inter have only won 14 of their 43 previous European games against Spanish opposition, though, suffering 18 defeats in the process.

Sevilla have won six, drawn two and lost five of their previous 13 games against Serie A clubs in European football, while Inter have won 14, drawn 11 and lost 18 against Spanish teams.

Both teams have plenty of experience in matches against Italian and Spanish opposition in UEFA competition. The Spanish outfit’s form is also excellent, they have the firepower to trouble Inter’s defence.

Prediction: Inter Milan -1.0 @ 3.3
