Eintracht Frankfurt vs Basel Match Preview

Eintracht Frankfurt have seen a troubled trip to Leverkusen and a 4-0 Bundesliga loss to Bayer over the weekend, hosting Basel desperate to bounce quickly and pick it up through Europa League.

Basel have picked it up since early February but have a long way to go in repairing the damages, sitting five points behind Super League pace-setters St Gallen and 2nd placed Young Boys.

Eintracht Frankfurt earned just one win in their last four outings.

Eagles have been more confident at home ground, denied a win just once in six games this year.

Basel picked it up since early February, bagging three wins and a draw in five outings across competitions.

Frankfurt have scored in three out of four at home in the Europa League this season.

On their travels in the Europa League this term, Basel have found the net in three out of four.

Three or more goals have been scored in 100% of Frankfurt’s home UEL matches this term.

Eintracht Frankfurt are stuck in the 12th position with 28 points, which is closer to the relegation zone than to European positions. Frankfurt have lost last three domestic matches to Borussia Dortmund, Union Berlin and Bayer Leverkusen with a total goal difference of 1-10.

Basel eliminated Cypriot side APOEL Nicosia quite easily in the previous round 4-0 on aggregate. They are also underperforming in the national championship, sitting as 3rd with 40 points at the moment, five behind the leading duo St Gallen & Young Boys.

Frankfurt are looking awful when it comes to defending, and we don’t see them keep a clean sheet against Basel. Both teams to score is the most obvious betting recommendation here. Draw or away win at 2.5 also feels like value.
